Quest Criteria

My friends and I love a good bottomless mimosa brunch.

When we saw a post about over a dozen locations in Sacramento (Cowtowneats), we didn't just think where should we go next time but let's try them all.  We loved the idea of trying new places, but we didn't want to loose the information we gained.  So we decided on rating system that is updated after each brunch.  In the end, we hope to have ranked list that would give us information on the best place to go based on our desires.

The restaurants are rated based on the following criteria:

1.  Don't you hate waiting to get a table, especially with a large group. So do we!
(Points: -7 no reservations, +5 if reservations can be made by phone, +10 if reservations can be made on OpenTable / Multiplier: 0.2)

2. It is great when there are other bottomless drinks like champagne with other juices, sangria, and bloody Mary's.
(Points: +5 some other drinks, +10 many other drinks / Multiplier: 0.15)

3. Outdoor seating is great for many months in the year.
(Points: +5 limited outdoor seating, +10 lots of outdoor seating / Multiplier: 0.1)

4. No one likes food issues like improperly cooked eggs, small portions, slow service etc.
(Points: -10 any issues / Multiplier: 0.05)

The following are rated on a typical scale of 1-10

5. Food Variety (Multiplier: 0.1)
6. Availability of Car Parking (although most of us ride our bikes, Multiplier: 0.05)
7. How well were our Mimosa glasses kept full (Multiplier: 0.25)
8. Atmosphere (Multiplier: 0.05)

All these points are multiplied by how important each criteria is to us to create a final score.

Who are we?

We are people who love good food and good drinks for a great price.  We love to get together and just relax in cozy Sacramento.  Each month, me and/or my partner in the quest Meegen, and 6-10 additional friends come together for brunch. After the meal, and numerous drinks, we pass around the score sheet and discuss our ratings.  We then compare the ratings to the places we already been to ensure that we are rating in context of our other experiences.
